Saburo’s Sushi bar and Restaurant – Japanese Sushi House
Post # 5 of 101 Cool Portland Places: Saburo’s Sushi bar
Saburo’s sushi in Southeast Portland in the Sellwood neighborhood.
Saburo’s Japanese Sushi House is by far my favorite sushi bar in all of Portland. The pieces are so huge that you might need a knife to cut it into smaller pieces, and yet you still pay the same price as any other place. The food tastes very fresh and the service is nice. My favorite is the fresh water eel and the Sabu Roll. The Salmon pieces are so huge that you cannot even see the rice. They of course have all of the tempura and Teriyaki meals you could ever want.
You will not be disappointed, check out Saburos in Sellwood at 1667 SE Bybee Blvd Portland.
The only drawback to some is the long wait to get inside. Rain or shine you can expect to wait half hour to an hour and a half. This place has become popular by word of mouth for a reason. In my opinion, I do not mind the wait, it gives me a good reason to go next door and get a good beer while waiting.

In my spare time I enjoy watching my beautiful boy grow, camping where you can\'t see civilization, giving star talks under a clear night sky, The White Album, brewing my own organic blueberry wine and Organic gardening. I have been living off of my Organic fruit and vegetable garden for the last 25 years. I don\'t go produce shopping for 8 months of the year.
