Boise homes for sale and neighborhood info – Portland

The Boise homes for sale have an average price around $350k and average year built around the 1960′s.

The Boise neighborhood sometimes called Boise-Elliot. stretches from inner Northeast Portland into North Portland. It borders Sabin and Elliot. It crosses over MLK blvd and has quick access to the 5 Freeway as well as the 84 and 405. It is also quick and easy to cross over the Fremont or Broadway bridge to get into Downtown Portland. The Boise name came from Reuben Patrick Boise who came to Oregon in 1850. He was an attorney, judge and politician in the Oregon Territory.

In 1999 the city of Portland created the Mississippi Historic District Target Area to improve public safety, upgrade housing and attract businesses. Now over 40 business have popped up on Mississippi street, some including The Rebuilding Center, Gypsy Chic clothing, The Fresh PotLupa Wine bar, Muddys Coffee House, North Portland Bike Works, Mississippi Records and Mississippi Pizza Pub.  The Portland Community Media on MLK is Portland’s public access TV channels. Something I am greatly enjoying and taking advantage of.
