Da Vinci Arts Middle School – Focused in the arts and music
Da Vinci Arts Middle School in the Portland School District is located in the Kerns neighborhood. Students who are not highly focused in the arts will certainly feel out of place with classes ranging from Jazz Ensemble to Fused Glass. The school’s curriculum is heavily influenced by the arts but that in no way diminishes its academic performance. Da Vinci earned an “exceptional” overall rating on its 06-07 Portland education state report card. It also offers advanced courses academic courses such as high school level geometry. Also offered are boys and girls volleyball and basketball, a rock climbing club as well as a book group. Another unique feature of the school are its mixed-age classes. Students of all grade levels interact which allows older students to mentor those just entering the program.
Da Vinci was founded in 1996 by parents and they continue to be a primary motivating force for the school. Several reviewers on Great Schools rave about the parental involvement the school receives and the sense of community it fosters. Students themselves have nothing but good things to say about the the welcoming atmosphere as well. Overall greatschools.net rated it 9/10 and parents gave it 5/5. Those thinking of relocating to Portland need to be aware that students need to find their own transportation to and from school which is located at 2508 NE Everett in Portland in the Kerns neighborhood. There is a three part application process as well as a lottery to get in. For more information check out their website http://www.davinci.pps.k12.or.us/

Agent Profile
My introduction and education in Real Estate started back in college, 1989, in Los Angeles, California.
I chose to work with M Realty because of their top of the world technology and innovative home searching website unmatched anywhere in the US.
I enjoy meeting Portland locals and opening the door to so many different and unique homes to view. I also have been working with families relocating to Portland since day one as a licensed Portland Realtor. Having a vast knowledge of the Portland homes for sale, neighborhoods, schools, local places of interests and just an overall love for our city makes this job more of a passion.
My past working bio consisted of other interests within public relations:
An Astronomy educator for NASA and the Griffith Observatory.
President/CEO of AIRTIME BOARDS snowboard company.
Creator and author of KEVDIDDY children\'s music, books and videos.
In my spare time I enjoy watching my beautiful boy grow, camping where you can\'t see civilization, giving star talks under a clear night sky, The White Album, brewing my own organic blueberry wine and Organic gardening. I have been living off of my Organic fruit and vegetable garden for the last 25 years. I don\'t go produce shopping for 8 months of the year. I also have some of the most healthiest and happiest chickens from which I get fresh eggs daily.
It\'s a good day to live in Portland!
