Pix Patisserie has 2 locations, on at 3402 SE Division St. and the other at 3901 N Williams Ave. Although my first memory of them is on Hawthorne Blvd next to Powell’s Books. Pix is the perfect place to cure your chocolate cravings like the Shazzam!, The Royale or Aphrodite. PIX is also known for many other great deserts with fruit toppings, caramel sweets and other delectable goodies. Cheryl Wakerhauser who is also known as Pix, is the creator of this amazing place and is known for her eccentric and distinctive style that intertwines flavors and textures. She was also studying to be an astronaut…. I want to meet her. I’ve always wanted to be an astronaut while sipping on wine and eating chocolates up in space.

Many Victorian homes are built in the late 1840′s – 1900′s. Portland Victorian style homes start around 1880′s. Victorian is a blanket term that covers many different homes styles. Gothic Revival, Italianate, Second Empire, Stick Style, Eastlake Victorian, Folk Victorian and Queen Anne are all architectural styles in the Victorian vein. Because there are so many different styles of Victorians it is hard to pin down characteristics that fit all of them. Since the invent of cars has not happened yet, many Victorian homes do not have garages. You might also notice many Victorian houses have many fireplaces since wood burning was a main source of heat.
