Streetside dining is becoming part of Portland Oregon’s obsessive culture. These mini hot-spots are set up in parking lots, sidewalks, and even parks, sometimes in large groups and sometimes solo.
I loe the widest selection of foods to choose from and I love how they are in the most random pockets of Portland.
Anyone remember Zach’s shack on Hawthorne? I’m not sure if that’s considered a food “cart” but it was so popular that it finally bought it’s own shop on the Blvd.
Multnomah County has 450 carts, a 20 percent jump over last year, with another 32 carts under review. One reason my Portland is taking a sudden surge is affordable licenses, only $315 and access to real estate averaging rent $500 a month.

Food carts are also about supporting small, locally-owned businesses and small start-ups that might not have the capital or credit to open up their own full-fledged restaurants.
This is one of the reasons why Portland is one of the greatest city in all the states.

Hayhurst homes for sale in SW Portland
I just previewed a bunch of Hayhurst homes for sale with my clients who are relocating to Portland from the east coast.
After viewing approximately 25 homes all throughout SW Portland, and most in Hayhurst and Multnomah Village, we found the perfect 4 bedroom/3 bathroom 3200 sq. ft home with a extra deep backyard full of fruit trees and fully remodeled with 3 levels of finished space, all for under $450,000. This home was definitely in excellent condition and we got it at an amazing price based off of the recent comparables that have sold in Hayhurst. I have been living off of my Organic fruit and vegetable garden for the last 25 years. I don\'t go produce shopping for 8 months of the year. I also have some of the most healthiest and happiest chickens from which I get fresh eggs daily.
